PostDoc – Biotransformation (m/f/d)
Your tasks and responsibilities
o Independent work on scientific projects as well as project support of current activities with focus on the establishment of industrial biotransformation processes
o Establish and optimize biochemical and microbiological methods (cloning strategies, enzyme assays, biotransformation) for biotransformation process development
o Identify and quantify relevant reaction parameters and reaction compounds (analytics)
o Optimize biotransformation processes with focus on industrial relevant parameters
o Plan, perform and evaluate the scientific experiments, report results and progress
o Collaborate in interdisciplinary project groups across various functions
Who you are
o PhD degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology or a related area
o Excellent knowledge in classical biocatalytical techniques
o Organic chemistry background combined with micro- and molecular- biological expertise
o Expertise in the development of industry relevant biocatalytical processes desirable
o Experience in microbiological fermentation and metabolic engineering is of advantage
o Creative and flexible thinking as well as high quality awareness
o Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team as well as independently
o Good analytical and project management skills
o Fluent in English, both written and spoken, German language skills of advantage
This is a fixed-term contract for 2 years.
