The Centre for Ethics and Law in the Life Sciences (CELLS) invites applications for the position of a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (m/f/d) in Philosophy of the Life Sciences (Salary Scale 13 TV-L “FwN”, 75 %) starting January 2022 (or shortly thereafter). The post is limited for a period of 3 years, with possibility of renewal.
Responsibilities and tasks
Humanities and social science research on topics in ethics and politics of the life sciences, biomedicine and inequity, and responsible innovation
Collaboration with CELLS faculty on research coordination, preparing funding applications, and publication
Teaching activities in the above-mentioned topic areas; design and teaching of three courses each year
Because of university teaching requirements, this position necessitates regular presence in Hannover.
Required competencies
Completed scientific university degree in Philosophy
A relevant doctoral degree (completed or recently defended) is desirable
Experience with political theory, social constructivism, and collaboration with STEM researchers is also highly desirable
Experience in qualitative methods, or an interest in learning them
English-language communication skills, written and spoken
