Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and passionate Postdoctoral Fellow to join Dr. Krishna Bhat's laboratory focused on brain tumor research.
This position is expected to start in January 2025. The project will utilize multipronged approaches to discover novel immunotherapeutic opportunities for glioblastoma, a fatal brain cancer. Specifically, the candidate will study the neuro-immunology of glioblastoma by characterizing novel target candidates that modulate myeloid cell functions such as phagocytosis. The position is a collaborative effort between Dr. Bhat’s laboratory and researchers at the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) and German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Munich.
This post-doctoral fellow will be given the opportunity to learn and utilize single cell omics, mouse models of brain cancer, multispectral flow cytometry and high dimensional data analyses. The position also will allow for the fellow to learn new techniques in both Mayo and LMU/DZNE campuses with full travel support.
Applicants must have a recent PhD in immunology from a reputed University/Institute or current post-doc within 1-2 years of graduation. At least one first author publication in a peer reviewed journal stemming from PhD studies is required. Experience in flow cytometry and/or in vivo models of cancer is highly desirable.
Salary is based on NIH NRSA levels or higher. This position is eligible for relocation expenses. The candidate must also have the ability to coordinate multiple projects and believe in team science. Career path opportunities to industry or academia will be provided toward the end of the post-doctoral tenure.
