Fondazione IstitutoItaliano di Tecnologia – IIT is opening a Post-doctoral Position in the field of two-dimensional materials, in the framework of the Future & Emerging Technologies on graphene and other 2D crystals, Graphene Flagship, funded by the European Commission with Grant Agreement n. 881603 for the 2020-2023 period (https:// graphene-flagship.eu/).
The selected candidate will be working on the design, fabrication and characterization of 2D-material based photonic devices for telecom and datacom applications. Focus will be put on the scalable integration of 2D materials such as transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), graphene and hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) on photonic waveguides.
Eligible applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering or related fields. Previous experience in 2D materials photonics will be highly evaluated. Excellent English communication skills, creativity and marked enthusiasm for research are mandatory.
