The laboratory of Dr. Himisha Beltran at the Weill Cornell Medicine, New York, NY, is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow for ongoing research in prostate cancer. Dr. Beltran’s lab combines multi-disciplinary approaches to study prostate cancer disease progression and treatment resistance. A major focus of the lab is in understanding the mechanisms driving the neuroendocrine resistance phenotype in prostate cancer. This includes the use of genomics and epigenomics, development of preclinical model systems, and testing of novel treatment strategies. For this project, the candidate will use molecular techniques in combination with cell line models, patient derived organoids, and xenografts to focus on defining the role and timing of N-myc in driving androgen independence in prostate cancer and how N-myc acts in concert with the other molecular alterations observed in patients with neuroendocrine prostate cancer (ie. TP53, RB1, EZH2). The project is translational in nature and will allow for a broad network of interactions with computational, clinical and basic researchers here at Weill Cornell and at other institutions. The position is open to graduating Ph.D. students and current postdoctoral fellows. Candidates must have a Ph.D. and a strong background in, molecular biology, cancer genomics, biochemistry or other related fields.
