Postdoctoral Researcher in Plant Biochemistry
Applicants are being sought for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the laboratory of Dr Steven Penfield in the Department of Crop Genetics.
The successful applicant with join a project exploring the consequences of the genetic control of chemical uptake by seeds. The uptake of chemicals into seeds is very variable and can be inefficient. Nevertheless, application of chemicals to seeds during processing is common in agriculture, leading to environmental problems when chemicals applied to seeds accumulate in soils and watercourses, and move up the food chain.
The post-holder investigate potential methods for improving chemical entry into oilseed rape seeds, following uptake by LC-MS. The post is available for 3 months in the first instance, with the possibility of an extension.
Salary on appointment will be within the range £29,500 to £36,060 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. Informal enquiries are encouraged and should be made to...
