Description: Postdoctoral research position is opened in the laboratory of Dr. Inna Slutsky at the Sagol School of Neuroscience, Tel Aviv University. The research is focused on understanding the basic mechanisms initiating the transition to synaptic and cognitive dysfunctions at very early stages of Alzheimer’s Disease (Fogel et al., Cell Reports, 2014; Dolev et al., Nature Neurosci, 2013; Abramov et al., Nature Neurosci, 2009). The goal of the project is to determine the molecular mechanism by which amyloid-beta interacts with its presynaptic receptor, APP homodimer, and induces hyperactivity of hippocampal neurons. To achieve this goal, we utilize biophysics, biochemistry, molecular biology, electrophysiology, 2-phothon FLIM/FRET microscopy, calcium and vesicle recycling imaging.
Qualification: We are looking for highly motivated and independent candidates with strong background in biochemistry and structural biology and proven publication recorded.
